The Sandmonkey said he can't take my blog seriously because I don't post regularly! Ouch.
Well, sometimes when all you read is bad news for two days running, you remember your mother saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
Hmph.
Then again, what else is new?

Here, this will brighten your day; apparently Israel now officially has the worst image of any country in the world.
Yay! We beat Iran again! Re: Not serious

At least Hapoel won 4-2 against a prestigious parisian club. That should seriously enhance the rank !

"If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
... I agree and obviously follow. What else is new? Woke up with a beautiful and thougthful idea on my mind, prayed for Pierre and his family while driving to work, had a heart-warming laugh with some colleagues at lunch time, read an interesting article about something not related to politics, murders, etc. but I think none of these would make the news, would they? Sigh ... Re: Not serious

Actually, I think you did a fantastic job live-blogging Pierre Gemayel's funeral - and I thank you for that.

And how long would Haaretz (and most bloggers for that matter) be in business if not for bad news? The airplane that lands safely without incident doesn't make the headlines.
(Guilt trip alert!) For many of use who don't know anyone living in Israel and have never been to the region, blogs like yours are the best way to get well-written perspective from those most affected by events that we read about in the detatched, often biased news media. Face it, most of my fellow Americans have no idea what Tel Aviv is like, and rarely if ever get a pro-American, anti-Jihad perspective from an Egyptian like Sandmonkey. People like you who can offer a local, personal perspective have more impact on their readers than you might suspect- even if we know that it's the viewpoint of one person among millions. I'm thankful that I'm able to form opinions based on sources other than CNN or (heaven forbid) the AFP. I hope you'll keep it up, and not allow the bad news or lack of commenters to put a damper on your blogging. Thanks for all you do. Not serious?

Hi Lisa,
I get my bad news from NPR and Drudgereport. They sum up the Lords of Chaos (CNN, FOX, and the rest of the alphabet news services.) Then I go to On The Face - usually with a cup of hot tea and honey. Thank you Lisa. Sincerely, Bill Trackbacks
