Via Ouriel's blog, I bring you a video recording of Shimon Peres addressing the audience at LeWeb3, an annual bloggers'conference held in Paris.
Find out why one of the world's most experienced diplomats thinks those of us who are depressed at the current state of the world might be overdoing the gloom and doom. As Ouriel notes, the audience was completely silent while Mr. Peres spoke, and rose to give a standing ovation at the end.

Shimon Peres: the grand old man
Comments
Re: Shimon Peres: the grand old man
I wish, Lisa, that the old man could still impress me as he obviously did to you. Unfortunately, aside of senility that is fitting his age, he succeeded to display in the past years more than just traces of racism, venality and thirst for power that, taken together, make him quite an odious character.
He will be much better off home, taking care of his grandchildren. All this regardless of him being right or wrong on doom and gloom ;-) Cheers. Re: Re: Shimon Peres: the grand old man
Hey Snoop -
Peres is far from being my favourite politician, and I agree that he's shown some pretty unflattering sides of his character lately, but he does still have his moments. And compared to guys like Lieberman, well, you know... Peres looks kinda good. ;) Re: Re: Re: Shimon Peres: the grand old man
Well, you have trumped my card. Lieberman...
Of course, this was an easy way out, you realise ;-) Re: Shimon Peres: the grand old man
