I like to look forward to the day when a visit like Hoder's isn't a big deal at all. Until then, though, I guess this kind of thing will startle some people. I hope it startles folks in a good way, a way that makes us all more inclined to question our assumptions and to see one another as created b'tzelem Elohim (in God's image) regardless of where we come from or what we believe. What I like about your post is its ordinariness. So, nu? You picked a guy up at the airport, you changed some money, you hung out at a cafe. Like people do. Somehow I think that helps as much as any grand dialogue does -- just being people with one another, doing the ordinary things that are part of our lives.
