Hmm, thoughtful sister Adina: at the time I was certain that the woman snubbed me because I spoke the "language of the oppressor," because I have been so thoroughly insulted, on several occasions, by foreign NGO workers who really do not have a clue and are totally, ignorantly, partisan. One ISMer, a 20-something European girl with dredlocks and acne who was actually staying at the apartment of an acquaintance in Tel Aviv, told me she couldn't shake my hand because I was an "occupier."
But reading over your comment, I think the woman ignored me for all three reasons you suggest. She was definitely enjoying her "queen bee" role with the men. And she did seem to take a lot of pride in her ability to speak a bit of Arabic.
