The bedikat chametz sounds like good wholesome family fun (I especially liked the idea of previously hiding some crumbs, so that the search will not be in vain). By the strangest of coincidences, I was just listening to the "Kol Nidre" sung by Leo Roth. I saw it on the shelf in the music library, and thought I'd give it a try. Interesting, moving.
