Re: We Media Conference, Day Two
by Anonymous
I don't have a blog, but are you really investing all this time for no money? Yes it is probably a labor of love, but how much publicity have you gotten from this blog? How many paid jobs (and free trips to conferences) have to gotten because someone was familiar with you through this blog? Blogs as a whole don't pay what they are worth, but bloggers who are good writers and have a new point of view do seem to cross a threshold and start earning money. Chances are, as blogs become more accepted, there will be more of a gradual pay scale between free bloggers and paid professionals. Also, I was struck by your comment about Reuters' perceived biases. What's amazing is that the biases are not both sides complaining about different things. Both sides actually agree about the same bias. Israelis thing Reuters focuses too much on the occupation and the resistance and Palestinians thing Reuters ignores Palestinians and their families who are against violent resistance. Both seem to agree that Reuters has a bias towards supporting Palestinian violence.
