Re: We Media Conference, Day Two
by TMA
But, momos, your examples of "incorrect" beliefs about Iraq mostly work against you "Saddam & Bin Laden in cahoots" -- the 9/11 commission found no evidence of Saddam's direct involvement in 9/11, but there is AMPLE evidence of OTHER collusion between them, some of it in the form of agreeing not to harm each other (which is mentioned in the 9/11 comission report) and also in the form of terrorist training and medical assistance see http://www.husseinandterror.com/. and/or http://www.nationalreview.com/robbins/robbins091903.asp As far as yellowcake, while I'm sure others know far more about this than I do, there is certainly evidence that Iraq attempted to purchase it from various African nations (see, for example, the Butler Review -- and there is no denying that a whole lot of yellowcake WAS discovered in Iraq after the fall of Saddam -- see http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/10/8/112447.shtml, for example. So who exactly is misinformed? Even "news junkies" may be in serious error, if they read sources that constantly emphasize only the information most damaging to the US and distort or omit everything else.
