Most citizens on opposite sides of any border would live in peace. There may be some squabbles from time to time, but that is normal enough in families, between brother and sister. It takes groups of greedy and powerful men who form militant groups and / or governments to whip up hatred in citizens to the killing level. Would it surprise you in Israel and Lebanon that some *vested interests* in Canada and the USA sometimes express hatred for each other? Our recently defeated members of our Liberal government dared to express hate for things US. It was a ploy to win votes by showing defiance and independance. There is no measure of hate between CITIZENS of Canada and the USA, but during the election campaign, many of the uninformed were led to believe that hatred was real. Politicians want to have power and influence and they will stoop to any deception of the people to get it. Deception works because so many citizens are busy. Busy working to pay bills and eat properly. Many are not motivated to learn about politics. Politicians and groups like Hizbullah and Hamas know that and use it to gain power and control. Politicians here in Canada and the USA manipulate the people also. Misguided feelings of hate can be stirred up here but not to the killing level as in some other parts of the world. TG
