Oy no, Adina it isn't. It would be if you were being paid Toronto wages but that doesn't happen here. I'll give you my own personal example. In New York I was making $75,000 a year and I paid $2500 a month for an apartment about the size of the one I'm in. I'm doing exactly the same job, but with more experience, and am making the U.S. equivalent of $13,500 a year --and my rent is cheaper here (if you compare 2500 to 650 of course) but way more expensive if you calculate it as a percent of your income. Like, uh, way more!
