Re: Letters of peace
by
Anonymous
Hi Lisa.
As a Canadian, i've been trying very very hard to sort of wrap my head around all the violence. To understand all the historical aspects, as well as all the latest reasons 'who shot who, who kidnapped who'...
I honestly don't think i'll ever really truly undertand it. It's so far outside my frame of reference that its basically incomprehensible to me.
One thing i've never liked however, is bullies.
And there seem to be far to many bullies on both sides of this problem.
I can't tell you how wonderful it was to come across your blog today.
When all the mainstream media shows is wanton destruction and violence and prejudiced rhetoric from both sides, it is an absolute pleasure to find your site.
The Letters of peace broke my heart more than just a little, but more than that..it filled me with hope..
i have this feeling that the vast majority of people would like nothing more than to just have some peace and tranquility back in their lives...and its just a small gang of thugs on both sides that hold everyone else back.
My neighborhood here, just outside of Toronto, is very diverse.
there are muslims, jews, christians, hindu....you name it,
in the morning on the way to work, we all wave at each other in our driveways...our kids play together in the local park.
i can only hope and wish that one day, it will be like that where you are too...
cheers
Tyson
