Re: As the dust settles
by Anonymous
'When people are forced to live in peace with their neighbors, the old hatreds start to fade, as people focus on leading normal lives, and pursuing normal goals and aspirations.' ---- Obvious no-starter. Obvious to anybody who noticed the last civil war in Bosnia that spent 50 years in imposed peace with 1/3 of the marriages being mixed ones. If anything it would nt be the west to impose peace on the middle east but the middle east to impose itself on the west, the 9/11 style. If all powerful US can not prevent Iraq from sliding into the suni shia civil war for sure there is nobody who can do it elsewhere in the middle east.
