Re: Re: Re: Re: In the army, as in life

I understand the point you are trying to make - that the IDF was falsely accused of killing Mohammed al Dura. I also understand you think it important to remind people that a forensic examination showed that the boy's death was not caused by Israeli bullets.
But that is not the point I was trying to make. You saw in the mention of Mohammed al Dura's death in Jobnik an accusation against Israel. I saw a factual recounting of the fact that a boy was killed, that his death was a tragedy no matter whose bullet(s) killed him, and that his death was a symbol of the violence and tragedy of the intifada.
Mohammed al Dura's parents were interviewed last year on an Israeli news show: for them, it doesn't matter whether the bullet that killed their son was from the gun of a Palestinian or an Israeli. It matters that their son is dead. They grieve, just as the parents of Israeli children who were killed also grieve.
Miriam is not making a value judgment in her comics. She is just highlighting a universal tragedy: the death of a child during a violent time.
