Why do you have to get to a result that is exactly in the middle of attitudes? Because you obviously define the outcome from the start you distort an open thinking process.
The Israeli society is not and has not been 100% sure to be solely and exclusively the victim of the conflict. If you look at the developments in Israeli histography you will easily see this.
I agree with you that Arab propaganda reflects to a great deal Arab thinking or rather emotions. I suggest once more that you get familiar with the concept of honor/shame society, it might help you get an idea why these emotions and the related rationalisations are prevalent in Arab/Muslim culture.
