MEMRI a Mossad operation??? Uh, no. It's an NGO that distributes translations of articles and television clips from the Middle Eastern media (Arabic and Persian). Some people have claimed that MEMRI selects articles and clips that promote a negative image of Iran and the Arab world. Brian Whittaker wrote a piece for the Guardian that sums up that contention - here. I think MEMRI probably does have an agenda, but the fact is that they do translate articles and interviews from mainstream ME media outlets like Al Arabiya and Al Jazeera, so it's not as if they're scratching around for some marginal extremist material. On the other hand, they may be neglecting the wider picture. Perhaps Mid East bloggers are filling that information gap.
