Re: British journalists' union absolutely committed to objectivity
by Anonymous
In other news, Alan Hart - former BBC & ITN correspondent, "researcher" and author of 3 books, and, yet, a British Journalists, suggests Israelis might have murdered Alan Johnston: http://alanhartdiary.blogspot.com/2007/04/if-alan-johnston-is-dead-who-really-was.html His reasoning goes something like "He was reporting critically of Israel so it's likely the want him dead so they *may* have killed him" - as an experienced researcher, Hart doesn't let the facts that Johnston was, after all, kidnapped by Palestinian militants and that Israel doesn't really have a record of killing journalists who criticize it confuse him (understandably - having orchestrated 9/11 so successfuly, what's one reporter between those Jews, er Zionists?) Lisa, most UK media is indeed hopelessly biased against Israel. Not all of it, sure, but the BBC often is, the Guardian even more so and the Independent is almost hilariously Israel-hating. These are pretty well known facts in the UK, agreed by Israel's critics and supporters. There's really no need to be apologetic. It's no coincidence this boycott and the academic boycott both came from the UK, and targetted no other country but Israel.
