Yes, Beirut is awfully great, but I am just a biased Beiruti. But that is not the reason I enjoyed what you wrote, Lisa. It was tantalizing reading a piece by an Israeli on Beirut. I know there have been speculations in the blogosphere over whether what you did was courageous or stupid, I think it is the right thing to do. I have friends who risked the same going to Israel (not as much at stake, just ending up in jail in Lebanon). Next time, give us a warning so we can show you some "old-fashioned" Levantine hospitality.
